PURPOSE AND SCOPE
OnPurpose is seeking a compassionate and culturally responsive Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and medication management to mental health clients. Our mission is to restore hope, healing, and purpose to youth and families through faith-affirming, trauma-informed care. The PMHNP will serve as a critical team member, supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and trauma-related symptoms. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychotropic medications in collaboration with care team
- Provide psychoeducation to clients about diagnosis, treatment options, and medication
- Coordinate care with therapists, school counselors, and family support teams
- Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant documentation of services
- Attend case consultation meetings as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Active NP license in the state of Texas
- DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and adult populations
- Culturally responsive, trauma-informed approach to care
Preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish or other languages reflective of Houston-area communities is a plus
- Familiarity with DBT, trauma-focused models, and wraparound services
- Comfort working in faith-affirming environments

- Flexible hours; part-time or full-time availability considered
- Must have malpractice insurance and ability to work as an independent contractor
COMPENSATION
***Compensation is based on a 60/40 split of insurance billed***
